Life outside the résumé

Blue Band

Penn State's marching Blue Band is famous for its precision high step, half-time field performances, and filling the football stadium with exciting music as our Nittany Lions fight for every touchdown. In a pandemic-ridden year, much of the band's activities were brought to a halt - but they persisted! I was thrilled to successfully audition into the Blue Band even though there were no longer football games to attend. In place of this, the band kept rehearsing and learning the ropes to be ready for the next opportunity to perform for a packed stadium. We live-streamed a few special performances throughout the year to feature the band and entertain the alumni and fans at home! Watch the Blue Band's most recent performance below.

Smeal Ethical Leadership Challenge

Late in my fall semester, I was invited to join the pioneer class of the Smeal Ethical Leadership Challenge, a challenge to help students in the business college develop themselves personally and professionally. This development stems from a number of events such as presentations and discussions to community service work. Along the way, we earn badges indicating our completion of various milestones on the path to ultimate completion. As part of this special group and task force, we have worked together to design and refine the challenge to eventually roll it out to thousands of students in the Smeal College of Business.
